Alexis Bay, a ’20-’21 Justice Catalyst Fellow, spoke at a rally in San Juan, Texas condemning former President Donald Trump’s visit to the Rio Grande Valley and the Trump administration for its filing of over 200 lawsuits for border wall construction against South Texas landowners.

At a rally hosted by La Union del Pueblo Entero, Bay spoke of the border wall construction’s impact on the RGV community: “The wall tears through our land and our backyard. It destroys our environment. It ruins people’s homes. And also it creates a more dangerous situation for migrants.” A livestream of the rally can be found here.

Alexis Bay is a Justice Catalyst Fellow with Texas Civil Rights Project, where they defend migrant’s rights against abuses by immigration and law enforcement agencies on the South Texas-Mexico border.
