Ian Stringham is the Executive Director of California Legal Research (CLR), a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to law libraries for people in California prisons and jails.

He co-founded CLR with Edwin Gonzalez, a self-taught, former jailhouse lawyer, after Edwin was denied all access to a law library, photocopier, and legal forms while incarcerated in Men’s Central Jail. Ian is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and UCLA School of Law, and serves on the Board of Directors of the National Lawyers Guild – Los Angeles.
