Sonya Levitova is a 2020-2021 Justice Catalyst Fellow with Emery Celli Brinckerhoff Abady Ward & Maazel, where she will focus on holding federal officials accountable for their violations of incarcerated people’s constitutional rights.

In addition to working on prisoners’ rights class actions, she will develop models and resources to assist litigants and advocates whose efforts to bring conditions of confinement claims may be impeded by the administrative hurdles that the Prison Litigation Reform and Federal Tort Claims Acts have created. Sonya graduated from the City University of New York (CUNY) School of Law, where she served as Managing Articles Editor for CUNY Law Review and as a Student Attorney in the Immigrant and Non-Citizen Rights Clinic and in the Creating Law Enforcement Accountability and Responsibility Project.
